Welcome to Lucky, Tom & James
We have three new additions to our household, well our back garden, in the form of Guinea Pigs!
We had to go to the pet shop today to get a new exercise ball and treats for Huggles, our hamster, and whilst we were there Daddy (Tim) thought that the guinea pigs looked cute and that we should have some, obviously we were only too pleased to oblige.
The selection of the hutch and run took some time but we eventually settled on Thistle Hall and Fennel Fold, very fancy names for a couple of wooden structures that are bright orange and need painting by Mummy (Alli) or Daddy (Tim) at some point to blend in with the garden fence.
Once the living quarters had been decided on we set about selecting our guinea pigs, it is not fair to keep solitary guinea pigs as they are communal animals and therefore we had to have three!
Daniel decided upon a black one with some caramel flecks and named him Lucky.
Emilie went for a ginger one with a white stripe down his nose and named him Tom (she had wanted to call HIM Rebecca, but changed her mind when she was told he was a boy!)
Joshua chose a white one and named him James.
Decisions made and all necessary equipment such as food and bedding purchased we headed off home with our new additions.
Daddy (Tim) immediately started the construction of the hutch and before long it was ready for occupation by the three bundles of fur, they took up residence and hid in their wooden playhouse before making their way upstairs, yes it has two levels, to the bed area.
Mummy (Alli) and Daddy (Tim) have just decided that the guineas might be a little scared this evening so they are going to move the guinea’s hutch into the conservatory for the night – how spoilt are they?
