Boxing Day – Journey to the home of football!!

This morning we were up nice and early again as we needed to get Daniel and Emilie to their dad’s for their christmas with him and we needed to get in the car for our journey to London to the home of football. Just in case there is any confusion we were on our way to White Hart Lane to see the mighty Spurs play Aston Villa.

This visit to London came about as PKD received some tickets as his anniversary present from the lovely Alli and was quite chuffed with them and it gave him his first opportunity to wear his new Spurs shirt!

It was a reasonable drive till we got near London when it got a bit busy and as a result we missed kick off but fortunately we didn’t miss any goals. The Spurs goals came from the well in form Jermaine Defoe scoring 2 cracking shots from brilliant assists by Dimitar Berbatov. A shambolic and fouling Gareth Barry got one back but that was all they could manage as deadly Ledley King and Michael Dawson shut them out for the whole match.

It was great to be back there and even better to win, looking forward to getting down to the lane again in the near future as PKD has been away too long!!

A nice drive home followed and a very early night as both PKP were very tired after a long day of driving…

The “Real” Christmas Day

To make up for the early rise of “Christmas” Day Dan and Em managed to stay asleep until 9am this morning – what a result!!

According to reports Josh was awake at 6:30am but did actually go back to sleep.

We spent the morning playing with our toys and reading our new books. Mummy even managed to help Dan build a lego model correctly!

We spoke to Grandad David as well to make sure that he was having a nice Christmas Day.

In the afternoon we went to see Grandad and Pauline, we took some of our Christmas presents to show them.

Whilst we were there we got some more Christmas presents as Father Christmas had left them at the wrong house!

After an afternoon of exterminating and pram pushing we made our way back home and Dan & Em sat and watched Cars before retiring to bed.

It was strange not having a normal Christmas Day – but it was better because we all got to open our presents together!!!

Christmas Day – 1 day early

As anticipated the day got off to a very early start – rather surprisingly though the first pk awake was actually Daniel as we usually have to drag him out of bed!!! He was awake at 5:50am proclaiming that Father Christmas had been and left a stocking on his bed full of presents – Daddy (Tim) sent Daniel back to bed and told him to try and go back to sleep for a bit – he tried really hard to be quiet (so quietly Daddy (Tim) and Mummy (Alli) could hear him from their room) whispering “wake up Josh Father Christmas has been” Needless to say by 6:30am all 3 pks were awake so Mummy (Alli) and Daddy (Tim) had to relent and let them start opening presents!

After the initial bedroom present opening we all went downsatirs to eat our breakfast, yes we made them eat breakfast before they opened their presents. After breakfast the 3pk dragged Uncle Michael and Auntie Alison out of bed and then we went to see how many presents Father Christmas had left.

The lounge was chock a block with presents and the great present opening started – we were very nearly lost under a sea of discarded wrapping present.

The main present that we got were:

Daniel – Doctor Who Dalek (or Garlic as pk2 calls it) and lots of other Doctor Who goodies and Lego

Emilie – Sylvanian familes and houses

Joshua – Thomas The Tank Engine train track and trains and engine sheds and of course his 1st football kit – needless to say it is a “mighty” spurs kit!!!
pkd – Lego Darth Vader Tie Fighter and a “mighty” spurs shirt!

Mummy (Alli) – Nintendo Ds (Daddy (Tim) is trying to get her into gaming) – she actually really likes it especially as it is pink and she can relive her youth by whiling away hours playing Tetris.

After the present opening Uncle Michael and Auntie Alison went back to bed as they were exhausted – either that or plain lazy!!!!

The 3pk then spent a good few hours getting all their new toys out of the boxes and playing with them, Mummy (Alli) and Daddy (Tim) were busy preparing our Christmas Dinner.

We sat down for our Christmas Dinner at 1pm and thanks to M&S it was a lovely meal – Emilie particularly enjoyed stuffing a whole profiterole in her mouth!!

After lunch it was more playing and the pk played and played until bedtime – when they retired to bed exhausted!!!

We won’t be far behind them.

23rd December – Our Christmas Eve

Well what a busy and exciting day we have had today, well it is our Christmas Eve after all – we are celebrating a day early so that the 3pk can open their presents together!

The morning got off to it’s usual start of breakfast and playing before Bethany, from next door arrived as Mummy (Alli) and Daddy (Tim) were looking after her for the day, and then we had a visit from Auntie Beverly and Uncle Simon, we hadn’t seen them for a while so the 3pk were all very excited and Emilie even ran to give Auntie Beverly a kiss and a cuddle – which is quite uheard of!

Shortly after Auntie Beverly’s arrival some more guests arrived – Uncle Michael and Auntie Alison!

After lunch Emilie and Joshua went to bed for a sleep a they were exhausted from the mornings activities. When they woke up we went to Cinema to watch Happy Feet – it was really good, Emilie enjoyed dancing to all the songs in the film. Daniel and Bethany enjoyed eating popcorn and Joshua sat quite nicely for most of the film.

After the film we went home and had our dinner and then it was time to sit and watch The Snowman. After this film had finished it was time to leave some refreshments out for our expected visitor.

We left a carrot and some milk outside the front door for the reindeer and we left a mince pie and a bottle of Stella for Father Christmas. We also made sure that we left the magic key outside the front door so that Father Christmas could open the door and deliver our presents!

We then had to go to bed – Very Excited!!!!!!

For the record a couple of hours ago Daniel reported that he had heard a bang on the roof and had to pretend he was asleep as he thought it was Father Christmas!!!

Scary Train

This morning PKP took PK3 to watch Polar Express at the cinema. pk3 likes to watch The Polar Express on DVD when he is at his Nanaâ??s. It became apparent during the film that he enjoys watching it a lot as he was reciting the lines along with the characters in the film!!

PKP enjoyed the film and the popcorn!

PK3 sat very nicely in the cinema and only had to make one toilet trip despite having quaffed half a litre of lemonade before the film was even halfway through!!!

Christmas Productions 2006

In chronological order the pk took on the following roles in this yearâ??s Christmas productions:

Daniel â?? Singer in Narnia

Joshua â?? Wiseman in a traditional Nativity

Emilie â?? Innkeeper in the Nursery Rhyme Nativity

Daniel didnâ??t have a starring role this year, he was in the Chorus. He performed his songs beautifully and even got a special award from Miss Manning as he had been so well behaved sitting in the chorus line.

Joshua was the wiseman that wasn’t too keen on giving up his present to Baby Jesus! He wore a very fetching green costume and gave an oscar winning performance!

Emilie was an Inn Keeper and just like her brothers gave a sparkling performance, which was only enhanced by the waving to Mummy.

We wonder what next year will bring!

Pre-Christmas trip to Dover and Folkestone

On Friday morning we were piled into the car ready for the trip down to Folkestone to visit our relatives in the south. We were all very well behaved in the car on the way down.

The highlight of the trip was the game of eye spy we had when Mummy (Alli) said I spy with my little eye something beginning with F â?? now bearing in mind that we were on the M1 at the time, Mummy (Alli) & Daddy (Tim) were reduced to tears when Daniel responded with Fish!!!

We arrived at Grandadâ??s new house in Dover at about 2pm and proceeded to trash the living room as we needed to let off steam after being in a car for 4 hours â?? we are not sure that Grandad knew what he had let himself in for.

After settling in and having a little play we made our way to Folkestone to have our dinner at Grandma and Grandadâ??s (we have a very confusing family). We played with Pru, Auntie Alexâ??s dog, and the cars before we ate our dinner of delicious homemade spaghetti bolognaise. After a couple of hours we went back to Grandadâ??s and went to bed.

Apparently Mummy (Alli) and Daddy (Tim) stayed up and had a few drinks, Daddy (Tim) bought Mummy (Alli) a bottle of Champagne as she had just found out that she had got a new job and they wanted to celebrate.

Mummy (Alli) must have celebrated a little bit too much as she stayed in bed on Saturday with a hangover, whilst we went out to the shops in the morning with Grandad and Daddy (Tim) to choose our Christmas presents from Grandad. After lunch Grandad, Daddy (Tim) and Auntie Alex took us up to the cliffs so that we could fly our kites â?? we had a great time, but had to be careful not to fall over the edge as we didnâ??t want to go swimming.

When we came home at 4pm Mummy (Alli) was out of bed, so we told her about our day and then played with our new toys.

The house then filled up as Auntie Alex, Uncle Jerry, Auntie Sarah, Uncle Chris and Cameron all came round as we were all going out for a meal at a posh restaurant! We were all very well behaved in the restaurant including Uncle Jerry!

After the restaurant we went back to Grandadâ??s and after a little bit more playing we went to bed and fell asleep straight away as we were so exhausted!

On Sunday morning we managed to lie in bed until 8am and then we got up and helped Mummy (Alli) clear up the lounge from the day before.

After breakfast we went back to see Grandma and Grandad and had some lunch there before making our way back home.

We had a great time and canâ??t wait to go back and see everyone.

Party with Amy

â?¦It wasnâ??t a party at all just a lunch time trip to the Wacky Warehouse, which PK3 obviously associates with parties and therefore wouldnâ??t accept the fact that we were only going there to play.

A few weeks earlier PKM had met up with Amy and Auntie Jennifer for lunch and Amy was upset because the 3PK were not with PKM, so we decided that we would get together one weekend so that they could all play.

The 3PK and Amy had a great time running around the wacky warehouse, as did PKD and Uncle Mike. Callum slept threw the proceedings and PKM and Auntie Jennifer just sat and talked as they always do.

After we had played we had our lunch and then we went back to Amyâ??s house for cakes that Uncle Mike insisted on buying on the way home â?? we think he thought he was buying cakes for the whole street as he bought so many ut we weren’t complaining.

After a couple of hours playing we had to make our way home for our dinner.

Daniel’s Sleepover

Once the excitement from the fireworks had died down Daddy (Tim) bathed and bedded Emilie and Joshua, leaving Daniel and Bethany playing in the play room. At around 9pm Bethanyâ??s Dad came to retrieve his daughter and was met with â??Can Daniel come and sleep at ours? And that will be a yesâ? Poor Steve (Bethanyâ??s Dad) didnâ??t get a word in edge ways.

Before he could change his mind the bag was packed and Daniel was heading out of the door for his first sleepover at a friends.

When Emilie and Joshua awoke in the morning they wondered where their brother had disappeared to â?? however this was short lived as he arrived home at 9am having been breakfasted and showered â?? a feat he doesnâ??t manage when he is at home!

He had a great time at his first sleepover and apparently Daniel and Bethany fell asleep around 10.30pm.

We have yet to return the favour but we have promised that we will! We just need to build up the courage to face the night of limited sleep â?? something neither Daddy (Tim) nor Mummy (Alli) are keen on!

Fireworks

This year we decided to shock all our neighbours and have our fireworks a week late, it keeps them on their toes!

After a dinner of lasagne and garlic bread we made our way out into the garden, we were also accompanied by Bethany from next door. We started the proceedings with sparklers â?? we all had a go and we were very good with them.

After the sparklers had finished PKD set about letting the fireworks, this was quite a difficult job as we seemed to be having our fireworks on the windiest and wettest night of the year.

We did lots of oohing and aahing and munching of treacle toffee before having to abandon the proceedings due to the firework lighting fuse running out before PKD had finished the display â?? never mind we are saving the left over fireworks for New Years Eve!!!

Trick or Treat 2006

Fortunately when the time came to go out trick or treating it had stopped raining which Mummy and Tim were pleased about. Daniel and Emilie donned their costumes (Mummy refrained from putting on the pirate costume as she would have scared too many people) and then it was time to hit the streets with the other â??Trick or Treatersâ?. We spent about 45 minutes knocking on all the neighbours doors and came home laden down with lots and lots of goodies.

Daniel, Emilie and Tim all benefited from the adventure and were munching sweets for days after â?? Tim benefits from all the sweets with artificial colourings as they keep him awake!!!

Halloween

As is becoming tradition in 3pk world we had Halloween a little earlier than usual in order that all the pkâ??s could enjoy the fun.

Just before 5pm the 3pk were sent upstairs to change into their fancy dress costumes â?? this year they were the following:

Daniel â?? Vampire

Emilie â?? Little Witch

Emilie â?? Skeleton

Unbeknown to the 3PK Mummy (Alli) and Daddy (Tim) were also partaking in the dressing up. Daddy (Tim) donned a pair of inflatable bat wings and Mummy (Alli) managed to get into Danielâ??s pirate costume from last Halloween.

The 3pk were then invited into the party room, which was the dining room, that had been decorated with balloons and bats and skeletons and other scary things. The 3PK then gorged themselves on pizza, sausage rolls and fizzy blood (Cherryade)!!!
