Christmas Eve 2007
We had some visiting to do this morning as we needed to go and see Josie and Grandad & Pauline. We went to see Josie first and as usual we were no sooner in the door than the demands for lemonade and sweets were being made!
Whilst consuming lemonade and starbursts we told Josie what we hoped Father Christmas would be bringing us. Daniel wanted Lego, Emilie wanted dollies and Josh got the argos catalogue out and started pointing to all the toys he could find!
Next it was off to Grandad & Pauline’s here we were able to consume fruit shoots and lovely Belgian biscuits – perhaps this Christmas visiting isn’t too bad after all! We also managed to acquire Grandad’s latest railway magazine so that Josh could have some new pictures of trains on his bedroom wall.
Our excitement with regards to the imminent arrival of a certain man in a red suit increased steadily during the day and before long we were being told that it was time to have a bath and get ready for bed.
Once we were bathed we went downstairs and got the necessary drinks and snacks out for our night time visitors – Father Christmas was left a bottle of Stella and a mince pie and Rudolph was left carrot and a bowl of milk. We also remembered to put our special key out for Father Christmas, the key doesn’t work in the door unless you are Father Christmas, as we don’t have a chimney we have to let him get into the house some how.
Joshua phoned us and told us that he had left out a snack and drink for Father Christmas as well, as he wasn’t staying with us tonight.
Then it was time for bed – Mummy and Tim warned us that if we didn’t go to sleep quickly we might not get any presents as if we are awake when Father Christmas arrives he doesn’t leave anything!
Our fingers are crossed that Father Christmas comes and leaves us lots of presents!!!
