…. well almost!

This weekend pk3 has been wearing big boy boxers instead of baby nappies and he has been making frequent trips to the potty for wee wees!

He has done really well and only had once accident on Saturday morning when he was too engrossed in The Incredibles to worry about wee wees. He even managed to not have a wee wee whilst we were out at the park for a couple of hours this morning.

Unfortunately he hasn’t quite mastered number 2’s on the potty and quite happily walked into the lounge this afternoon and announced to his Daddy, who was busy playing x-box at the time, that he had done a poo in his pants!!! Poor Daddy he had to stop playing x-box and clean up messy boxers instead!!!!

Joshua, Mummy (Alli) and Daddy (Tim) have just returned from a morning watching Daniel playing a rugby match against Fylde – which also included a trip to the park to play on the slides and swings.

We are pleased to announce that Daniel scored a try and is now winning the rugby try competition that he is having with Uncle Michael – the scores are as follows:

Daniel – 2 tries

UM – 1 try (and he has over 20 years more experience!!!!)

We were amazed to discover this evening that PKM can cook despite her protests.

After a delicious homemade stew and dumplings we were presented with a plate of iced cakes that she had made from scratch. I think she has far too much time on her hands.
I have now put in a request for rice krispie cakes and an airwolf cake and I am hoping she will deliver soon!!!!!

Since returning to school in September Daniel has been working on his school project which was about explorers. He had to choose 3 things to do from a list of suggested tasks so he chose:

1. Write a list of the things an explorer would pack in their bag
2. Design and draw a flag that you would have had on your explorer ship
3. Design and build an explorer ship

Over the last 3 weekends we have spent time working on the project.

Not content on simply writing a list of things an explorer would pack in their bag Daniel also wanted to make the bag and the things that would be packed including a bottle of rum!!! Obviously we weren’t going to waste valuable rum on a school project so we resorted to cold tea.

Tim assisted with the boat building ensuring that the hull was reinforced – he did take it very seriously.

Mummy had to step in on Sunday though as Tim was poorly and the portholes needed glueing onto the ship – we are so thankful that PKD is as blind as a bat and needs contact lenses as the lenses cases made fantastic portholes.

Daniel took all his hard work into school today and as a result he had to go and see Mr Bowles (The Headteacher) as his class teacher was so impressed with the work he had done. He then apparently went on a grand tour of the school showing a number of teachers his handiwork.

We are really proud of the work he did and we are really pleased that he had to go and see the Headteacher for the right reasons.

We often tell the 3pk that they need to drink all their milk and eat their yoghurts so that their bones can grow and be nice and strong. However this evening pk2 took this discussion one stage further asking us “what colour are our bones” we answered her as honestly as we could stating that they are white – to which she replied “mine aren’t they are pink and purple.”

It just so happens that pink and purple are her favourite colours!!!

The 3pk were introduced to Callum Matthew this afternoon. The younger pk were more interested in playing with Amy’s toys – however as with all babies Daniel took an instant shine to him and insisted on having a cuddle, he had to wait though as Daddy (Tim) insisted he was having first cuddle and then it was Mummy’s (Alli’s) turn.

We were shocked to discover that Father Christmas had made a very early visit to Warrington this afternoon.

The children were somewhat surprised to discover that Father Christmas had sneeked into the house and left 3 bikes in the lounge!!!

Needless to say the 3pk were soon out riding them. Emilie and Joshua are a little unsure of them and haven’t quite got the hang of using the pedals but I am sure they will soon learn. Daniel however was a different matter he took off like a bat out of hell and wasn’t seen again for a few hours – and I think that was only because hunger got the better of him.

We are pleased to announce that a new member of the family arrived in the world this morning – Auntie Jennifer and Uncle Mike have had a little boy who is to go by the name of Callum Matthew.

We are planning to go and see them in a week or so when they are settled in so I am sure there will besomepictures of him on here soon.

Congratulations to Auntie Jennifer and Uncle Mike and of course Amy who has now become a big sister.

….the Rugby season that is!

Daniel had his first match of the 2006/07 season this morning away at Widnes. The boy was in fine form and unlike last year was definitely not living up to the nickname that Grandad dreamt up for him of “Billy Elliott” becasue he was prancing round the field.

Daniel really got stuck into the game and made WIdnes work really hard as he became a demon tagger, stripping anyone that came near him of a tag or two.

A few minutes into the first half he received the ball at the opponnents end of the pitch and proceeded to fly down the wing leaving his team mates and the opposition in his wake to score his first try of the season!

There is to be a competition this season between Daniel and Uncle Michael to see who can score the most tries – so far it is level pegging at 1 try each – but we will keep you posted as the season progresses.

Whilst lunching with Grandad on Monday Joshua asked when can we go and see the trains again – actually he said “Grandad Trains soon?”

Obviously Grandad jumped at the chance to bore, I mean entertain, his 3 grandchildren at the railway and so the arrangements were made for today just 6 days after the initial request!

We made our way down to Cheddleton just before lunch time and met Grandad and Pauline at their caravan and then we headed off to the pub for our Sunday Roast – Grandad’s treat.

Once the food was devoured we went up to the station where Pauline treated us in the station shop to the following items:

Daniel – A model bus (don’t ask why)

Emilie – A Thomas The Tank Engine Flannel

Joshua – A Thomas The Tank Engine Poster for the bedroom wall

We then had a play on the platform whilst we waited for the train. When the train arrived we all jumped on to start our journey up the track and then back again. We enjoyed the ride and we also enjoyed watching the train drivers fill the train with water and then move the engine to the other end of the train – although Joshua isn’t too keen on the noise.

After the train ride we went back to the caravan for some light refreshments before setting off on our journey back up north.

Monday 28th

I was very excited about going to Uncle Michaelâ??s and Aunties Alâ??s down in Reading and before I could go I had to pack my bags with Mummy â?? after packing the bags we set off to Sale as we were meeting Uncle Michael, Auntie Al, Grandad, Pauline, Auntie Alâ??s Mummy and Auntie Alâ??s Daddy at a restaurant for lunch. As we were walking towards the restaurant I saw Uncle Michael and decided to run and jump at him as I knew I would receive a massive hug â?? within seconds Emilie was hanging around his neck and then Josh launched himself at him as well! Uncle Michael gave us all a hug then we went down to the pub but we were not allowed in so we had to wait in the restaurant. Emilie and I did not want to sit next to Mummy and Tim as they smell so we sat next to Auntie Al and Uncle Michael who are great fun, especially because I do not get to see them too much with them living 200 miles away â?? anyway I ate my lasagne before singing happy birthday to Grandad who said that he would buy me my new rugby boots. We swapped cars and then went on a really long car journey â?? it took us 3 hours to get to Reading â?? for tea I had a cheese sandwich and then went to bed at 9.30pm – I was very tired and ready for sleep.

Tuesday 29th

I woke up really late and played in the bedroom before I heard Uncle Michael get up â?? we had breakfast and then went shopping for my food for the week â?? after getting home we unpacked and then had lunch. In the afternoon I went on a huge bike ride, I really enjoyed it although it was very hard work with some hills â?? I had great fun racing against Uncle Michael and the best part was cycling up and down some bumps. I was a little scared at first, but then I got used to them and played on them for nearly an hour â?? Uncle Michael had a couple of goes but I think he was scared of them â?? what a wuss. I still had loads of energy left so we cycled around the lake again before heading home â?? half way home the heavens opened in a massive thunder storm; I was cold and the rain hurt â?? but after sheltering and getting colder we decided to get on with it â?? we got home and Uncle Michael ran a bath for me before making me a hot cup of cocoa. After that we made some fairy cakes. After eating my tea I went to rugby with Uncle Michael and the 1st xv scrum half showed me how to pass the ball properly because I was giving ambulance passes out. Auntie Al picked me up and we went home and decorated my fairy cakes with icing sugar â?? it looked like snow. I went to bed at 9 but decided to stay up until Uncle Michael came home â?? he saw me gave me a hug and told me to go to sleep â?? I did as I was very tired after the bike ride.

Wednesday 30th

I woke up at 9.30 â?? after eating breakfast and writing my BORING diary, I put my tent up in the back garden and then we went to Beale Park where there were loads of animals, however the birds were boring â?? I played in a massive park and climbed to the top of a rope climbing frame before going on a steam train. In the afternoon Uncle Michael took me to the pub where he works and I had a good time playing in the little park â?? I had a lemonade and a bag of crips and Uncle Michael drank dirty beer! We then went home and played on the swings outside Auntie Alâ??s flat and then Auntie Al came home and had a little bit to eat before going out for the night on business â?? it was nice to eat a meal together. Auntie Al left for her night on the town and me and Uncle Michael put my things in the tent – I was not scared and after playing with the torch Uncle Michael came outside and told me to turn the torch off and go to sleep â?? I did.

Thursday 31st

In the middle of night I needed a wee so I went back into the flat â?? I woke Uncle Michael up and he asked me whether I wanted to go into my proper bed â?? I did because it was light outside and the noise of the trains and lorries kept on waking me up â?? I stayed in bed until 10am. After eating breakfast and doing my diary we went to Uncle Michaelâ??s work where I played on his computer. In the afternoon we went to Henley and walked along the river, we had a nice ice cream and then we hired a rowing boat â?? this was scary as Uncle Michael could not row â?? in the end we swapped the rowing boat for a motor boat â?? we went up and down the river before playing in the park. I ate my tea and then went rugby training.

Friday 1st

We did nothing in the morning apart from going shopping for Mummyâ??s birthday book and whilst in town I bought Auntie Al a â??bride to beâ? book. In the afternoon we went swimming and at night I had fish fingers for tea and went to bed after watching coronation street â?? I really enjoyed coronation street and I do not know why Mummy and Tim do not watch it.

Saturday 2nd

We had a lie in, in the morning and after eating a really big cooked breakfast we played hide and seek â?? Uncle Michael and Auntie Al were being silly by hiding in bed all the time â?? I told them that they were no longer able to hide in bed â?? so Uncle Michael hid in the airing cupboard â?? it took me ages to find him â?? he then had to get ready for rugby and I went with him because Auntie Al had gone back to sleep â?? she eventually picked me up at the club and then we headed off to Reading to meet Mummy who was waiting at the train station. We went to Costa coffee for lunch, Mummy bought me a hot chocolate, a sandwich and some crisps. Auntie Al tried to pinch one of the marshmallows off my chocolate but I wouldnâ??t let her have it. We drank our drinks & Mummy and I ate our sandwiches. We then waved goodbye to Auntie Al and she left the station. We then got on the train to go back home oop north, the best thing about going back home is that there are not as many southern softies about.

Grandad (B) is 59 on Wednesday so we went out for lunch with him today to help him celebrate.

We went to Oca in Sale which is a restaurant for Grown Ups – we are not sure why Grandad didn’t want a Wacky Warehouse Party!

We enjoyed ourselves immensely as we were able to eat lots of garlic dough balls and surprise Grandad with a Monkey Birthday Cake complete with candles!! Apparently he was very surprised with the cake and he actually went a little red – a first!!!

We were also joined at the party by Uncle Michael and Auntie Alison – so we sat with them because we don’t see them very often and miss them. We also got to meet Auntie Alison’s Mummy and Daddy who were very nice.
