Amy Sleeping Over

PKM decided that the time had finally come that she did her God-Motherly duty and had her God-Daughter Amy to sleep over for the evening thereby giving Auntie Jennifer and Uncle Mike a rest.

PKM and pk2 travelled over to Northwich to collect Amy from her Grandma and Grandad’s (Auntie Carol and Uncle Harry to us) – when they got there Amy was asleep so they had to wait a little bit before they could come home so they passed the time having drinks and eating biscuits.

The 3pk and Amy then spent the remainder of the afternoon playing in the playroom whilst PKM prepared the dinner – spag bol – Delicious!!

pk2, pk3 and Amy had a little dinner party which was slightly less messier then a chimps tea party – but they did have fun.

After dinner it was bathtime, storytime and then bedtime. The girls were topping and tailing in pk2’s bed and they were asleep as soon as the light was turned off.

PKP had been told that Amy didn’t sleep much but we all slept until 8am on Friday morning.

Once we were up and about we had our breakfast, played, got ready and then went to the wacky warehouse where we played some more and then had our lunch. Unfortunately pk1 had a long wait for his lunch as PKD only ordered 3 children’s meals – we guess this is force of habit!!!

After lunch we went back home and played some more. Later in the afternoon Auntie Jennifer and Uncle Mike came to collect Amy and the adults decided that we would all go out for dinner together to Pizza Express – we all had a great time.

Cariba Creek Waterpark

PKP decided to take the 3pk on a surprise day out to the Cariba Creek Waterpark at Alton Towers. Upon arrival at our destination we made our way to the changing facilities which were somewhat cramped for the 5 of us but we managed.

Once changed we made our way out to the pools – the male pks headed straight for the water as they usually due unable to contain their excitement, the female pk on the other hand dipped one foot in the water and then said “can we go home now?” Going home was not an option so PKM had to spend a good few minutes coaxing her into the water – by the time she finally got in the water the boys were busy sliding down the slides in the toddler area without a care in the world.

Once pk2 had gained a bit of confidence we made our way to the larger pool where pk2 enjoyed riding on the back of the inflatable dragon and the boys had a good swim round – pk3 loved the fact that he had a life vest on and therefore stayed afloat with no assistance from parents.

We then spent an hour or so exploring the waterpark which included climbing up lots of nets – which even the youngest 2 managed. It was then time for lunch.

After lunch PKD and pk1 went on one of the big slides – unfortunately they had to go separately down the slide and pk1 fell off his tyre part way down the slide which knocked his confidence a bit.

It took a lot of persuassion from PKM to get him to go on the other slide with her which he eventually did but this time he went on a double tyre and he really enjoyed himself. Whilst PKM and pk1 were enjoying the ride on the slide PKD was entertaining pk2 and pk3 by taking them on a cruise through the swirling rapids.

We all had a great day and were totally exhausted when we left there late in the afternoon.

When we got back home we went to pizzahut for a pizza treat!

Daniel Sleeps Outside…

Daniel slept outside on his own last night in his shiny new tent and after last weeks tent fiasco it was about time he tried again!
Fortunately with no noisy neighbours to keep him awake he settled down and was asleep reasonably early.
This was short lived however as he came in at 3.30 am and woke PKM and PKD up to say he was scared. Not suprised though as a gale had whipped up and it was hammering it down with rain!

So we have yet to experience a full night in the tent, no doubt he will want to try again before the summer is out, better on a non windy and rainy night though this time i think…

The Amazing Maize Maze & Superman Returns

What better way to spend a Sunday than wandering aimlessley a field of corn trying to find your way out of Oz.

We decided that we would undertake the challenge of the Wizard of Oz amazing maize maze today and what a challenge it was.

We set off at a rapid pace, however this became progressively slower as the youngest 2 of the 3pk became progressively tired and hot. PK3 thought it was more entertaining hiding in the corn and trying to kill the insects rather than stay with the party of explorers as we tried to find the mailboxes so that we could collect the map pieces so that we could construct the map that would show us the way out!

PK1 enjoyed leading the party as he had to carry a flag so that we could be seen if we got horrifically lost – which I am thankful to say we didn’t.

We spent 2 hours walking up and down and round and round, walking down the same path time after time after time, however eventually PKM put her map reading head on and we managed to crack the maze and make our way out to a well deserved liquid refreshment.

Upon our return home PK2 & PK3 had a sleep whilst they were waiting for dinner.

PK1 had other plans though – he went out for the evening with Bethany, the girl next door, for dinner (KFC) and then to the cinema to watch Superman Returns.

When he returned he was full of beans and told PKP all about Superman and how he can fly and how he is really another man who changes into Superman. At least he watched the film and wasn’t up to mischief in the back row!!!

Josh’s First Toilet Trip

This evening we all experienced a major milestone in the development of Josh ….

…. he went to the toilet for a wee!!!!!!!

His first toilet wee was rewarded with a huge round of applause and lots of cheering from the very proud PKD & PKM and off course PK1 & PK2 who wouldn’t want to miss out.

Here’s hoping this is the start of things to come.

Jake’s 1st Birthday Party

This weekends social gathering was Jake’s 1st Birthday Party.

As at any party the 3pk had a great time;

PK1 – Played out at the front most of the time as he “is too old for baby parties” apparently.

PK2 – Spent the afternoon playing with cousin Amy and trying to retrieve the pink and purple balloons from PK3

Pk3 – was doing he usual stunts i.e. throwing himself off slides, bouncing on bouncy castles which were interspersed with the kicking of balloons over the fence (his new past time at home is kicking all 10 of the footballs over the garden fence!)

Pirates Of The Caribbean – Dead Man’s Chest

This evening PK1, PKM and PKD had a night out at the cinema to watch Pirates of The Caribbean – a grown up trip for PK1 as a treat for doing so well at school this year.

The evening began with the selection of refreshments before proceeding into the relevant screen.

We all enjoyed the film and PK1 loved the popcorn – he ate his own and then finished off the popcorm that PKM & PKD couldn’t eat.

PK1 & PKM have decided that when they grow up they both want to be pirates in Captain Jack’s crew!!!

Amy’s Party

And so the hectic social life of the 3pk continues …. well actually only 2 of the 3 attended (PK1 was at his Grandads in disgrace after an outburst earlier this morning)

Todays social gathering was at the Wacky Warehouse in Northwich where they were gathering to celebrate the 3rd birthday of the cousin once removed – Amy Rachel.

The afternoon was spent in the usual manner when attending one of these functions i.e. running around like tasmanian devils, jumping in ball pools, sliding down slides etc. etc.

After the gathering at Wacky we all went back to Amy’s house so that the adults could obtain some light refreshments in the form of alcohol and scones.

This enabled the 2pk in attendance to spend some more time with their cousins once removed – Amy, Courtney and Jake – this time running around the garden playing with as many toys as possible.

The party came to rather an abrupt end when Mike (Amy’s Dad) soaked PKM with the hosepipe!!!

Actually I had poured a jug of water on him from the bathroom window – so I guessed I deserved it! But I will get my revenge.

Spellings!!

PK1 got all his spellings right today in his Friday spelling test – this is the first time and PKM and PKD are extremely proud of him.

PKM took him to the toy shop so that he could choose a reward and he selected a Captain Jack Sparrow Gun.

Dan’s Trip To Beeston

Pk1 has just returned from his first trip away with school, he spent a night away from home at an education centre near Beeston Castle.

Whilst they were on the trip they pretended to be knights at the castle using the shields they had made in school – incidentally PK1 received a Head Teachers Award for working so hard on his shield and it is now displayed in the boy’s bedroom.

As with all school trips we don’t have much more information as PK1 will not ellaborate.

Tim & Apple Crumble

They say that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach and now I have evidence of this.

Tim was presented with a homemade apple crumble by Auntie Carol when she arrived at the party and you should have seen his face – I wish I had had a camera.

The apple crumble has been hidden from the party guests as Tim wants it all to himself.
