…. after dinner the 3pk and Daddy went out for a little bit so that Mummy could have a rest – she later found out that the reason they had gone out was to get their Mothers Day flowers which they then came home and presented to me.
The flowers look beautiful in the vases – I have pink and purple tulips and lots of other flowers.

… with separate outings for the girls and boys in the afternoon.
The girls had an appointment at the Beauty Bar with Auntie Nicola for manicures and pedicures. Emilie was first to have her nails done and she decided that she would have them painted in bright “barbie” pink – she sat very still like a princess and really enjoyed her pampering. Once Emilie’s nails were finished she watched as Mummy had her nails done – Mummy decided on a more subtle french manicure, as did Auntie Nicola. Whilst we were having our nails done Emilie proceeded to try on lots of bracelets – all of which were unfortunately too big!
Whilst the girls were being pampered the boys were at the swimming baths. Daniel had been invited to his friends swimming birthday party and as Mummy was out with Emilie Josh also attended the party as Tim Daddy had to accompany Daniel. They all had a brilliant time at the party – Daniel enjoyed jumping on to and off the inflatable and Josh loved jumping into the water from the side.
After the swimming the boys made there way tot he birthday tea where Josh apparently made himself right at home and according to sources (Tim Daddy) he ate more than Daniel!!!
Everyone had a brilliant afternoon.
After the trip to Rochdale we made our way to see GG and Josie – because we hadn’t seen them for a while and also because it is Josie’s birthday and Mother’s Day tomorrow. When we arrived we surprised Josie with a chocolate birthday cake complete with candles and a rendition of Happy Birthday to you – which we had to repeat a few times so that everyone got to have a go at blowing out the candles!
We spent a while there playing with the teddies and Emilie sat on GG’s knee for a while reading books to him. Uncle Michael arrived whilst we were there so it was a real family gathering.
Uncle Michael had to go and see the wedding cake decorator so he asked if any of the pk’s wanted to go with him and to the surprise of everyone it was Josh who decided he wanted to go and help choose how the cake will be decorated on the big day.
After birthday cake, sweets and biscuits we had to leave to go home for lunch, but not before the 3pks collected their £1 ice cream money from GG!!!
….. for Auntie Alison and Uncle Michael’s wedding had to be done this morning – we all made the trip over to Rochdale where Dan & Josh were measured up for their little suits.
They both looked very handsome in their jackets and we can’t wait to see them both in the full get up on the big day in 6 weeks time.
Once again the time that Daniel dreads arrived – Parents Evening.
The report this time was outstanding! He has made significant improvement in reading and numeracy and outstanding improvement in literacy.
We were very pleased that he had such a good report and Mummy has promised to buy him a game for her Nintendo DS.
This morning’s rugby match was a very wet & windy affair – We all went down to the ground this morning to watch the match against Wilmslow, Uncle Chris (visiting from Folkestone) and Uncle Harry (from Northwich) also came to watch the match. Unfortunately the weather was so bad that the boys didn’t really want to play, understandably so, and so the matches were over within an hour.
No tries were scored this weekend by either Daniel or Uncle Michael.
Daniel, very sweetly, presented Tim and I with a hand drawn Valentineâ??s card this morning.
The picture was of a green and red dragon like monster that was shouting â??Roarâ? at Airwolf!!!!!

We received an appointment for Emilieâ??s pre-school injections last week and due to the short notice and the fact that Mummy was already taking Daniel to the hospital on Monday about his hernia Tim kindly offered to take Emilie!
Mummy sat at work worrying how Emilie would react to having the injections and then how Tim would react to Emilieâ??s reaction. Shortly after the allotted appointment time Mummy received a phone call letting her know that everything was fine â?? apparently upon being given the injections Emilie simply looked at the nurse with a look that conveyed the message â??how dare you stick that in my armâ? â?? according to Tim if looks could kill then the nurse would have been dead! Emilie watched the needle going in to her arm despite Tim trying to encourage her to look away â?? but she was adamant that she wanted watch. When Mummy spoke to Emilie the injections werenâ??t mentioned as Emilie was more interested in the chocolate bar that she was now going to choose for being a good girl!
For the record Mummy was worried because when Daniel had his pre-school injections he screamed and then hid under the chair and refused to come out for a good 10 minutes to have the 2nd injection!!!!
The little princess bounded out off bed this morning taking great delight in telling us all that she was 4 today and because she is now grown up will no longer be watching cbeebies as that is for babies!
Once her and Daniel were dressed they made their way into our bedroom to undertake the ceremonious opening of card and presents â?? on reflection make that frenzied opening of cards and presents. As fast as Daniel could pass the presents to her Emilie was tearing the paper off â?? passing comment on the present, before moving rapidly on to the next gift!
Within minutes all cards and presents were opened and then it was time for breakfast, amazingly breakfast was consumed in record time this morning, I am thinking that this had something to do with the lure of playing with presents before going to Nursery at 8:45am.
Daniel & I took Emilie to Nursery today where she merrily waltzed in declaring â??It is my birthday today and I have bought chocolates for everyoneâ? â?? she really is a Madam.
After a day at Nursery and Lindaâ??s I collected Emilie and we went home for the birthday tea she had selected â?? Cheese and Ham Omelettes made by Tim (apparently he makes much better omelettes than I do).
There were a couple more cards to open â?? one which contained written on money (a cheque from Gee-Gee and Josie) and the other containing brown money (£10 from Uncle Michael and Auntie Alison).
Tim endeavoured to swap the brown money for some shiny gold money but Mummy was on hand to explain to Emilie that she would need 10 shiny gold bits of money to make the same amount as the brown money â?? so she declined the offer.
After another round of â??Happy Birthdayâ? it was time for the very tired Birthday Girl to make her way to bed, she didnâ??t mind though as she had a lovely new Sleeping Beauty Cushion on her bed from her brothers!
As she climbed into bed her kind and caring elder brother declared â?? â??your birthday is over now, mine is next!â?
Thank you to everyone that sent cards and present for Emilie â?? she really does enjoy opening them and playing with them, after the initial excitement.
As our little princess is 4 tomorrow we thought it only fair that she have a birthday party â?? a few weeks ago Emilie declared that she would like a Princess Tea Party, unusual for her to let us know what she wants â?? NOT!
A few weeks ago Emilie and Mummy made the trip to the supermarket to select the birthday tableware, she decided on Bratz, then we had to select the items to go in the party bags â?? unsurprisingly she chose jewelry and Barbie pencils.
Once I had finished the ironing, which took some time as I also had to help Emilie & Joshua find hiding places from the ambulance that was chasing them (I really have no idea where this one came from), we set about decorating the house with birthday banners and lots of balloons. BY the time Daniel and Tim returned from rugby the house was looking beautiful.
After lunch Emilie and Joshua went for a little rest before the 3pk donned their fancy dress costumes, the costumes they selected were as follows:

Joshua â?? Dragon (well he is Welsh, officially!)
Daniel â?? Superman, he even tried to slick his hair into a kiss curl
The party guests arrived at 3pm and the fun began we played lots of party games â?? pass the parcel, musical chairs, musical bumps, musical statues and pin the tail on the donkey. Daniel did very well trying to ensure that everyone had a turn in ripping of the paper and that everyone one at least one of the games so that they got a prize.
After a short interlude for refreshments including teddy bear shaped sandwiches, star and heart shaped cheese and hand decorated fairy cakes (decorated by Daniel & I) we presented Emilie with her birthday cake
Again Emilie had made it perfectly clear well in advance of the party that she wanted a Cinderella birthday cake â?? all I can say is â??Thank Goodness Grandma is a Cake Making Genius!â? Emilie loved her Cinderella cake complete with pumpkin, 6 white mice and glass slippers.
After the birthday cake we carried on playing more birthday games until 5pm when the guests left and Tim & I let out a huge sigh of relief.
Emilie really enjoyed her party and even said Thank You for a â??lovely partyâ? when I tucked her into bed.
It was a very cold and frosty Sunday morning when Tim and Daniel set off for todayâ??sâ?? rugby match in Fylde. I stayed at home to do the ironing â?? so I am not really sure which one of Tim and I drew the short straw.
It was so cold that I had to send Tim out with a cup of tea in an insulated mug to keep him warm.
Apparently when the player and his support team arrived at Fylde they were a little early so in preparation for the match Daniel consumed a bacon sandwich!
As usual Daniel was ready for the match and according to reports he once again played very well, staying in position and tagging a lot, his hard work paid off and he eventually went on to score 2 tries!
Well done Daniel! Come on Uncle Michael you are slipping woefully behind in the competition.
Grandad has Daniel earmarked for future England glory and has taken to calling him Danny Wilkinson in stead of Billy Elliott.
…Daniel declared this morning. He informed Tim that he didnâ??t like January as it was too long before going on to say that he gets hand ache from having to write the long word at school every day.
And there was us thinking that he meant January dragged after Christmas.
