Dore update

Daniel and Mummy went to Dore this morning for a review â?? for those of you not aware Daniel has been found to be at high risk of having dyslexia so we are currently undertaking a programme with him that will hopefully help him overcome this â??disability.â? He has been on the programme since October and he is doing really well. There has been an improvement in Danielâ??s reading and he is showing more interest in writing now â?? both things that Tim & I are really pleased about.

If you want to know more about the programme check out the website www.dore.co.uk or ask Tim & I â?? we are more than happy to talk about it.

Daniel romps ahead in try scoring competition

We have just received a phone call from our future England Rugby Union star to inform us that in today’s home match against Northwich he scored not 1 but 3 tries!!!

As a result of this hat-trick Daniel now has 9 tries in the competition compared to Uncle Michael’s paltry 2.

Well Done Daniel.

Josh’s Birthday Party

We all drove over to Wrexham this afternoon to take Josh to his Birthday party at Blue Bears Play Barn where some of his nursery friends, Daniel and Emilie and family members had a party for the newly turned 3 year old!!

Blue Bears play barn was a huge warehouse converted into a room of fun for the kids which they all loved as did some of the grown ups especially Mummy (Alli) who couldn’t get enough of their big red slide…

Mummy (Alli) and Daddy (Tim) got to play in all the play area as you have to supervise the under 4’s, it was a good excuse to get in there and have some fun not that you would have been able to stop us anyway.

After an hours play we all went and had Josh’s Birthday Tea which saw them all eating sausage rolls, crisps, jam sandwiches and all the normal party food. Following that up with Jelly and Ice Cream and biscuits was a big hit with everyone as they all sat down munching away.

After tea they had a disco ready upstairs that played loud music for them all to dance to as well as having a huge bubble machine and snow machine which the 3pk loved and kept catching it and trying to make snowballs…

After a little bit of dancing it was time to go and get their party bags and to go home for an early night as its back to school and nursery for Daniel and Emilie tomorrow. Josh is the lucky one off on holiday!!! No nursery for him this week!

New Year of Rugby

Today was the first weekend back to rugby this year for Daniel who despite the cold and unfortunately wet conditions did really well in training today. His passing and catching has really improved again in the last few months and he listened very intently to everything that was going on today too.

It did start bucketing it down after an hour or so which did dampen his spirit a bit but you could hardly blame him, it was freezing cold and rainy and windy!!

Match week next week against Northwich at home which he is looking forward to.

Josh’s 3rd Birthday (Well Sort Of)

Today was Josh’s birthday in our house as he won’t be here tomorrow morning and is jetting of to Gran Canaria for a week in the sun (lucky boy).

After the epic discovery regarding his lack of need for a nappy he returned to bed but only briefly before we realised we’d better get up and do breakfast and let him open his presents!!

After their breakfast Josh managed to find all his presents piled up in the living room and soon went to work (under supervision) opening them all up. He got lots of presents including a car and trailer with a boat on it (perfect for the bath) from Auntie Carol and Uncle Harry, some lovely Pyjamas from both Auntie Jennifer and Uncle Mike, Amy and Callum and from his brother and sister! He also got ‘James’ to go with his rapidly expanding Thomas Train Set which is starting to take over the playroom as well as a remote control ‘Lightning McQueen’ from the film Cars which he loves driving round into people.

I think he has a few more presents to come but he will have to wait for them till next time he’s here..

He’s spent the morning playing with all his new toys with Emilie and reading comics in bed whilst Daddy (Tim) and Daniel went to rugby…

Joshua’s First No Nappy Overnighter

After last nights first Number Two we thought it might be worth a go seeing if Josh could go all night without needing his nappy. This was a bit brave of us as we haven’t got a protective sheet for his bed yet but it was worth a go surely.

Anyway, he woke up at 8am this morning (always nice when he has a lie in) and shouted ‘Daddy I need a wee’. Trained as he is here to stay in bed till he’s told to get up he didn’t want to go to the toilet so Daddy (Tim) got up and went to the toilet with him and he did a huge wee. We will have to see how he gets on with that but he did really well, hopefully it wasn’t a one off. From now on we won’t bother with the nappies but we will get a sheet!

Just need to get him to understand he’s allowed up for wee’s but not to mess around…

Sleepover

Daniel had Bethany (One of our next door neighbours) over for a sleepover last night as it was time to return the favour from last year when he stayed next door!

They were both very well behaved and watched Stormbreaker and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory whilst munching popcorn and sweets with lemonade till 10:30 when they both went straight to sleep.

No messing about here, mind you there was the threat of making Daniel go upstairs and sleep in his own room if they messed about so rather unsuprisingly they behaved and were asleep 10 minutes later so they must have been very tired!

Joshua’s First Toilet Number Two

Normally i would stray as far away as possible from the subject of Number Two’s but this was a monumental occasion as Joshua has always refused to do one anywhere near a toilet and has an annoying tendancy to hold them it till he gets constipated.

However after our return from Blue Planet this afternoon Josh went to the toilet on his own and proudly proclaimed he’d done a poo. Not quite believing our ears we went to investigate and sure enough after months of not wanting to go at all he went all on his own.

Now all we need to do is teach him to wipe his own bum and learn to pull his pants and trousers back on rather than waltzing around half naked after every toilet trip!!

Trip To Blue Planet

Today whilst Mummy (Alli) was off pampering herself at a health Spa with Auntie Nicola whose Birthday it is on Monday, Daddy (Tim) decided it would be a good idea to do something ourselves.

We decided on a trip to Blue Planet, a huge Aquarium full of Tropical Fish, Turtles and Sharks not to mention a few spiders and snakes thrown in for good measure.

Daniel thought it would be nice to invite Bethany along too as he thought she would like to go too so off we all went to see the fish!

Everyone had a great time watching all the fish in their huge tanks, some of them were really big and looked a bit scary but none of the 3pk minded, it was all good fun. There were Manta Rays and Sting Rays to touch too but nobody fancied it much but it didn’t stop them looking. Seeing Clown Fish (Nemo’s) was a particular highlight as were the sharks which Josh for some reason absolutely loves. Walking through the huge underwater tunnels was especially fun as the fish were all around and you could see them really well.

After a good look round we went to the gift shop and got some memento’s of our day out, Daniel and Bethany got a shark each, Emilie chose a rather fetching Dolphin bag and Josh unsuprisingly chose a Nemo!

We all went home nice and worn out after a nice day out….

2007 starts with a bang!!!

The bangs were emanating from the fireworks that Daddy (Tim) and Steve, our next door neighbour, were letting off when Big Ben struck midnight.

Mummy (Alli) and Daddy (Tim) thought it would be nice to have a little New Year’s Eve party so we invited some of our family and our next door neighbours round for the evening to help us celebrate!
We were joined at the celebration by Uncle Michael, Auntie Alison, Jennifer, Mike, Amy, Callum, Graham, Carrie, Courtney, Jake, Steve, Becky, Bethany and James – we know that we had a great evening and we hope our guest did too.

The 3pk were very excited as they were allowed to stay up until the middle of night so that they could see in 2007, we wondered if any of them would flake before the magical hour but they didn’t – although shortly after the fireworks finished they finally gave up the fight and flaked out!

Today has been a leisurely day as we are all a little tired – Mummy (Alli) and Daddy (Tim) wished that they could join the 3pk and have afternoon naps but unfortunately the 3pk didn’t manage to have their naps at the same time so we had to be on parent duty, never mind early nights all round this evening as it is back to normality tomorrow and early mornings!
