Thank you to my three beautiful children (and Husband) for my lovely Mothers Day card, three bunches of flowers AND a box of perfume, shower gel and body lotion.

A week ago Tim and Mum were invited to school, by Emilie, to watch “Going Bananas.”
We like it when one of our classes does an assembly as it means Mum and Tim take us to school, so sure enough this morning we were taken to school by Mum and Tim. Mum waited with Emilie whilst Tim took Dan across to the junior playground, once Emilie had gone into her classroom to get ready for the assembly Mum went to the infant hall and found Tim sat on the front row (prime seats) with a cup of tea!
After a short wait Mrs Hawkins and her class, Emilie included, made their way into the hall and took their places for the start of the assembly. The assembly started with a rendition of Old McDonald had a farm in which Emilie played the part of a very convincing duck – she had been walking round the house practising in recent weeks. Then once we discovered that bananas weren’t grown in England we headed off on a trip to the Windward Islands and on our way we met Captain Banana with his amazing cleaning product “Banana Whizz” and we were introduced to a family of banana people.
The children had all made characters out of a picture of a banana needless to sat most of the boys had made cowboy bananas and most of the girls had made fairy bananas although there were some exceptions including a clown banana!
When we arrived in the Windward Islands we were told some facts about banana growing and Fairtrade – Emilie had a line to deliver which she shouted beautifully it was “They are carefully washed and packed before being sented to us on big ships”
Once the facts had been delivered two of Emilie’s classmates showed us how to make banana and walnut loaf.
The assembly was brilliant and Emilie did very well, infact when the assembly was over Mrs Hawkins came across and said that even though Emilie was small she had a wonderfully loud voice when she delivered her lines and she wished that all the children could have done the same – don’t we know about the loud voice!!

Today it is our cousin Mollie’s 9th birthday party so we went to help her celebrate her birthday. We arrived at Mollie’s house and made ourselves at home, singstar was set up in the lounge and there were lots of Mollie’s friends there to play with.
After we had been there for about half an hour Auntie Sarah told us all to go to the front door as she wanted to show us something – you should have seen the look on Mollie’s face when she saw the big yellow double decker disco party bus parked outside her house!!!
We left Mum (Alli) and Dad (Tim) in the house to play on Singstar with Auntie Sarah’s friend and we all jumped onto the bus that was kitted out with a slide, ball pool and disco area – it was fantastic, we had so much fun playing on the bus, we even had a party tea on there and all without any of our parents on the bus as they were banned – they were however allowed on to sing “Happy Birthday” to Mollie, but once that was done we sent all the adults back into the house.
As with all good parties the fun was over much quicker than we wanted it to be and it was soon time for the Disco Party Bus to go on it’s merry way.
We had a great time at the party, so thank you Mollie for inviting us.
Daniel has been collecting awards recently.
Last weekend he passed another swimming level and so has now moved up to another class, his swimming is very good and has improved a lot, Tim was very impressed when he saw him doing lengths of front crawl and back stroke.
The second award he received was from school and it was a Bronze Award, this is given when a pupil has earned 25 house points, which Daniel has managed to do – this is the first time he has received one of these awards and he has now set himself the goal of getting a Silver Award, which he is well on his way to achieving given that he received 3 house points today – keep up the good work Daniel!
Daniel ticked another band off his “I want to see” list this evening when Mum and Tim took him to watch The Killers at the MEN Arena.
Once again it was a surprise for Daniel and he didn’t find out until 6pm this evening that he was going. He had known for ages that Mum and Tm were going but they had told him that they hadn’t been able to get him a ticket so he was very pleased when he found out that they had managed to get him a ticket after all.
Daniel loved the concert and sung along to practically every track, he started the evening dancing as well but by the end of the concert tiredness had got the better of him and the singing was done in a sitting position. He was very pleased as they played his favourite 2 songs first which are Human and Smile Like You Mean It.
When the concert was over Daniel declared it “was the best concert he has been to but I can’t wait to go and see U2” – I guess we better get saving for that ticket then!!!
Today was the day that most children, with the exception of Emilie, dread – Parent’s Evening.
Mummy collected us from school, which was a nice treat, and then we went to look at Emilie’s work before we saw Emilie’s teacher – Mrs Hawkins.
Mummy looked through lots of Emilie’s work and she was very impressed, it would appear that Emilie likes writing and drawing lots and lots!
Mrs Hawkins came into the hall to collect Mummy and as we walked back through to Emilie’s classroom Mrs Hawkins said “Right then Emilie we better tell Mummy how naughty you are, I did tell you that I was going to tell her the truth so are you ready?” to which Emilie replied “Don’t be silly Mrs Hawkins I am not naughty I am always good!”
Mrs Hawkins then went on to say that Emilie was a pleasure to teach and she wished she had a class full of Emilie’s as if she did then her days would be great and she would have lots of fun. Emilie is doing really well and making very good progress she is a very keen member of the class and loves to learn. There wasn’t really much else for Mrs Hawkins to say apart from “Keep up the good work Emilie!”
So with one down and one to go we made our way across to juniors so that Mummy could see Dan’s teacher, Mr Gibbons. Unfortunately for Dan he had a tough act to follow but we are glad to say he measured up!
Mr Gibbons said that Dan is continuing to make good progress and no longer has tantrums in class when he doesn’t want to do something. Dan has been making excellent progress with his reading and with the punctuation in his writing which he needs to keep up with. He needs to spend some time working on his times tables, which obviously Mummy can do as she is an Accountant and likes numbers! Dan also needs to speed up when he is writing as although his punctuation and the use of language has improved he writes very very slowly and it is deemed a great acheivement if he manages to write 3 lines during a lesson.
Mummy was very pleased with both reports and as a treat she is taking us out for dinner tomorrow evening.
Yesterday our cousin Hughie was 2 so today we went to his party which was at Little Monsters Mayhem play centre, within seconds of arriving we had handed over our birthday gift, removed our shoes and coats and were running around like loonies!
We had never been tot his play centre before so we were very excited as there were lots of new things to discover which we all did with great enthusiasm, we only returned to see Mum (Alli) when we were dripping with sweat and in desperate need of liquid refreshment. After an hour of running around it was time for our lunch which we tucked into and then we all polished off a huge bowl of vanilla ice cream.
It was then time to sing Happy Birthday to Hughie and to give him his fantastic Fireman Sam birthday cake, unfortunately us all singing Happy Birthday was a little bit overwhelming for Hughie and he started to cry but he managed to blow out his candles with some help from his Mummy (Auntie Melissa).
It was then time to go and run around again for a very short 15 minutes before it was time to go home, we were disappointed to be leaving after 2 hours of playing as the new play centre is brilliant and infact the only thing that lured us away was the planned afternoon activity of chocolate mousse making with Mum (Alli), when we bake we get to lick the bowl out – yum yum.
We hope Hughie enjoyed his party as much as we did, it was fantastic, so thank you Hughie for inviting us to your 2nd Birthday Party!
We have just spent the first 2 days of our half term on holiday with Dad (Tim) and we have had lots of fun (unfortunately Mum had to go to work).
The fun actually started on Sunday afternoon when Mum (Alli) and Dad (Tim) took us out for a surprise trip to the cinema, they didn’t tell us what we were going to watch so it was very exciting waiting for the film to start, which it eventually did and we then discovered we were watching Bolt! We loved the film it was very funny and we all though that the best character in the film was Rhino the Hamster, he had a pink ball just like our hamster Huggles has. When the film had finished we were then treated to dinner in our favourite restaurant – Pizza Express – as usual we ate a full three courses and drank lots of lemonade.
Monday was stay at home day and do holiday job day, which involved cleaning out 4 of our animals, the hamster and the 3 guinea pigs and washing the cars, it was brilliant doing the cleaning as it meant we had an excuse to for getting wet and getting each other wet, something we love to do! Before we knew it was 5pm and Mum (Alli) was back from work and the first day of our holiday was over. After dinner we all settled down and watched Clone Wars (Daniel’s choose) and ate lots of ice cream with sprinkles and smarties on – yum yum.
This morning we played with some of our toys and did some drawings and then after one of our favourite lunches, tomato soup and freshly baked bread, we set off on an adventure with Dad (Tim). We went on a voyage of discovery through the fields near where we lived – we saw lots of sheep, Daniel got stuck in some mud but the highlight of the adventure had to be the discovery of a dead squireel trapped on razor wire – it was so exciting that we got Dad (Tim) to take a photo of it so that we could show Mum (Alli) when she got in from work.
We have had a brilliant time and are just sad that our holiday with Dad (Tim) has to end but it won’t be long until Easter when we are off on holiday with him again!
As you will have noticed today is Emilie’s 6th Birthday and just like Josh she has had to spend it at school, but then Emilie loves school so for her this was no hardship!
Mummy collected Emilie (and Daniel) this evening and brought them home so that Mummy & Tim could spend some time with the birthday girl. When Emilie arrived home she discovered that Grandad, Pauline and Josie were waiting to surprise her.
Needless to say Emilie was a very giddy kipper and was soon in the lounge opening her birthday cards, for some reason Emilie loves to open her cards before she opens her presents. We eventually got round to the presents and as usual she was spoilt by all of our family and friends who bought her lots of lovely presents!
No doubt Emilie will design and send a Thank You letter but for now we would like to say “Thank You” for the presents and cards that you sent to her.
Once the present opening was finished Emilie and Daniel had a game of Sally Sunflower and then Mummy & Tim had a game. Emilie and Tim both won the game much to the disgust of Daniel!
When the game was over we surprised Emilie with a birthday cake that Pauline had very kindly made – the cake was delicious, so delicious infact that Grandad had 2 pieces (no wonder he has a tummy like Father Christmas!!!!) So a huge thank you to Pauline for the cake!
By 8pm Emilie was absolutely exhausted, but before she went to bed she made sure she did her reading book and just becasue it is her birthday it doesn’t mean she shouldn’t do her homework (her words!) Two minutes after climbing into bed the birthday girl was fast asleep.
I think we can safely say she had a “Very Happy BIrthday”

This morning in assembly Daniel was awarded a Star Pupil Certificate for
“Fantastic effort in his maths work and his reading”
We are very proud of Daniel for getting this award he has been working very hard at school recently and on Tuesday this week he was awarded 4 house points for his hard work. Daniel’s reading skills have improved dramatically and he is really enjoying bringing his reading books home and reading them! This weeks books have been about BMX Bikes and Predators!

When we woke up this morning we discovered that it had snowed over night, much to our delight. Unfortunately this delight was short lived when we discovered that we would still have to go to school today and not spend the day playing in the snow – boo!!
Daddy had to drive to Wrexham to take Josh to school and despite driving all the way from Warrington in the treacherous conditions Josh still made it to school at the same time as some of his classmates that were only driving in from Wrexham!
When Daniel and Emilie came home they decided that as the snow hadn’t melted that they wanted to go outside and play in the snow and build a snow man, so that is exactly what they did! After 15 minutes they came in and told Mummy and Tim that the snow man was ready for inspection – their efforts were good but not up to the very high standards thar Mummy and Tim.
Tim told Daniel and Emilie to go and collect some more snow and he came back in and got a coat on so that he could go out and help, Mummy put our dinner in the oven and then she came out to play as well.
Emilie was in charge of shoveling snow and Tim was collecting snow from the cars in the road! We soon ended up with quite a sizable pile of snow and Mummy helped build the snowman. We used stones for his eyes and mouth and a carrot for his nose and then we christened him “Fred the Snowman”
During the building process Daniel and Emilie took a break and lay down to make Snow Angels! They were soaking by the time they had finished but the Snow Angels looked pretty and they were enjoying themselves immensely so it wasn’t a problem.
We love the snow and want more now so that awe can have a day off school to play in it!
