New Glasses

Last week Emilie had her routine eye test and as a result she needed some new glasses.  The young lady of the family selected a very stylish brown & lime green pair with heart details on the frame.

We are sure you agree that she looks very stylish in them.

Emilie’s Biscuits

This afternoon Emilie asked if she could do some baking; she had been looking through her collection of recipe books and decided that she wanted to bake some biscuits.  Mum checked over the recipe with her to ensure we had all the necessary ingredients and then she was informed that her assistance was no longer required.

Thirty minutes later Mum was called back into the kitchen to put the biscuits in the oven and she was met with a selection of shapes and letters on the baking trays, the biscuits baked & filled our house with a beautiful aroma.

Once the biscuits had cooled we were once again asked to leave the kitchen whilst the biscuits were decorated – when the decorating was done Emilie called Mum back into the kitchen to show her her handiwork; Emilie had made biscuits for Dad spelling out “I LOVE DADDY” and was ready to present them to him.

As you can see from the picture Dad was pleased with his gift from Emilie.

An Afternoon with Hughie

This afternoon we were supposed to be going to Splashzone with Auntie Melissa, Uncle Simon & our cousin Hughie; unfortunately when we got to Splashzone it was full but firtunately it was sunny so we decided to go to Walton Gardens instead.

We like going to Walton Gardens as we can play in the park, play football, look at the animals in the zoo and have ice cream and this is exactly what we did this afternoon.  We really enjoyed playing football and whilst the ball was being passed around Harry took Mum & Emilie for a ride on the train.

There was also a running race held – apparently Auntie Melissa (Personal Trainer) couldn’t race against Daniel as she didn’t have her trainers or sports bra on – we’ve heard all the excuses now! So instead Daniel had a race against Uncle Simon.  Much to everyones amazement Uncle SImon beat Daniel by a nose length, but Auntie Melissa said this only happened because they raced downhill and therefore Uncle Simon had a weight advantage!

We ALL had fun playing in the park – Mum, Dad, Auntie Melissa and Uncle Simon particularly enjoyed playing on the horse!

We had a brilliant afternoon and can’t wait to spend more time with Auntie Melissa, Uncle Simon & Hughie!

Baking

Letter Cakes

As you will probably know by now Emilie loves to bake and to help Mum prepare our dinners; which the boys like as it means they get cake and they don’t have to help prepare dinners!

This afternoon Emilie asked Mum if she could bake something all by herself & Mum said that she could.  Emilie chose to do a sponge cake but without realising she chose to make a genoise sponge cake which meant that it didn’t rise as she had expected to do.

Not detered by her baking mishap Emilie decided to cut letters out of the cake using our letter cutters and sandwich them together & decorate them with nutella.  They might not have been what she was planning to make but they were delicious non the less!

Girly Time
Girly Time 2

Girly Time

This morning Emilie enjoyed some girly time with Mum, as you can probably imagine living in a house with 3 brothers means that Emilie doesn’t get a lot of time to be girly and is somewhat of a TomBoy just like Mum used to be when she was younger.  However, every so often the girly side of Emilie breaks out and she asks Mum if she can have a manicure.

Mum promised Emilie a few weeks ago that she could have a manicure when she was next on school holidays and so this morning Mum & Emilie went to Fuss so that Emilie could have her nails done by H.

Emilie chose sparkly blue finger nails and as an extra treat she chose sparkly purple toe nails.

Family Time

We like school holidays as it usually means that we get to see our cousins Amy & Callum – we really like it when we get together as we always have loads of fun.

As soon as Auntie Jennifer, Amy & Callum arrived the 2 girls disappeared up into Emilie’s bedroom not to be seen again until lunch time.  Callum & Josh played together nicely on the Xbox and Harry kept Auntie Jennifer entertained.

We had yummy scrummy pizza for lunch followed by some chocolate cookies which were delicious.  After we had eaten our lunch the sun came out so Callum, Joshua and Dad played football in the garden, Harry slept, Amy & Emilie disappeared again and Mum & Auntie Jennifer had a good old chat!

Sadly at 4pm Amy, Callum & Auntie Jennifer had to go home – we hope it isn’t too long before we see them again!

Lego

Rainy Afternoon

True to form Bank Holiday Monday afternoon was a wet one and so we were a little bit bored.  Harry was fast asleep and so Dad suggested that we went to Toys R Us to buy some Lego.

Josh chose some more Alien Conquest Lego, Emilie chose some City Lego and Dad chose some more Star Wars Lego!  We spent the afternoon building our Lego and having lots of fun!

Easter Egg Hunt

This morning we had a brilliant Easter Egg hunt around the house after E.B. the Easter Bunny hid lots of chocolate eggs for us!

We all had fun but we think Harry & Finley enjoyed the hunt the most but we all enjoyed having Easter Eggs for breakfast!!

Emilie's Letter
E.B. Responds

Emilie’s letter to E.B.

Emilie had drawn a beautiful picture & written a letter to the Easter Bunny ahead of his visit on Saturday evening.

Her letter said:

To Easter Bunny,

Happy Easter and is your name Ebea (E.B.) probably not but if it is can you tell me?

Have fun I hope you give lots of eggs.

From your friend Emilie

xx

Much to Emilie’s surprise she received a reply this morning which read:

Yo Emilie,

Thanks for the note I don’t usually get them!

My name is E.B. how did you know?

Must hop, enjoy the chocs!

E.B.

Camping

Camping

This afternoon Emilie, Joshua & Finley decided that they wanted to camp out in the back garden over night – Mum, Dad, Auntie Alex & Uncle Jerry all agreed that they could and so the tent was erected.

Shortly after 8pm the 3 campers settled down in the tent wrapped up warm in their pyjamas, dressing gowns & sleeping bags.  They snuggled up together and watched the film Hop as it is Easter.

After about an hour the 1st camper came inside – Finley had decided that he didn’t want to sleep outside after all.  He was followed about an hour late by Emilie & Josh who having watched the film had also decided that they would rather sleep inside in the comfort of their own beds!

Fun with Finley

When we woke up this morning we found that our younger cousin Finley had arrived – Emilie was the 1st to know he was here as he had slept in her room and woke her up as soon as he woke up.

Finley had arrived late on Thursday evening along with Auntie Alex & Uncle Jerry.  We are spending the Easter weekend together!

We spent Friday morning playing together nicely with all the toys and having fun out in the garden on the trampoline.

In the afternoon we went for a walk up to the park where Harry went on the big slide on his own for the 1st time & he loved it.  He liked it that much that we struggled to get him off it!!

We all had fun at the park including Dad & Uncle Jerry who were playing on the climbing frame too.

We walked home via the sweetie shop as we needed to bribe Fin to walk & we told him that if he walked to the sweetie shop he could have some sweeties.

We had a lovely afternoon.

Emilie’s 1st REAL gig!

We all love music in our house; Mum & Dad really love music and enjoy going to gigs & tonight they took Emilie to her 1st real gig (Mum likes to try & forget about the Hannah Montana show a few years ago!) and what a 1st gig it was – Emilie spent an evening watching Florence & The Machine.

The 2 hour concert was amazing – Emilie listened in awe of the performance given by Florence; her voice was so powerful as she sang song after song after song.  Emilie also loved the amazing cape that Florence wore but she wasn’t particularly impressed with Mum when she started dancing!

Here are some of the pictures Mum took at the gig.

Emilie has taken her t-shirt into school today to show her class mates & teacher, we think her teacher will be surprised with her taste in music after all most of the girls in Emilie’s class have been talking about going to see JLS this week – an idea that thankfully repulses Emilie.

We are glad that Emilie enjoyed her 1st real gig & we hope she gets to go and see lots more live music.

And finally, Emilie & Mummy both decided they want to be like Florence when they grow up!
